SOUTH State Copiers captain Belinda Battistel dominated during her side’s 55-38 win over Snow’s Excavations in the B grade women’s grand final.

Battistel was everywhere during the game, flexing her muscles at both ends of the court, finishing with 22 points.
The captain’s knock was well backed up by Annaleise and Charlotte Jones, who combined to pour in another 24 points in the one-sided game.
Battistel also nominated her sister Kimberly as having a strong game in the final.
“Pretty much the whole game I kept saying to the girls, if we can keep this lead then we should win,” Battistel said.
“We wanted to keep that gap, and not give them any chance to get back into the game.”
Unfortunately for Snow’s their best player, Angela Modena,
suffered from early foul trouble, picking up three in the first quarter.
Because of this, her involvement in the game was limited, with most of her time in the third quarter spent warming the bench.
Despite sitting out part of the game, Modena picked up her final foul with eight minutes left to go in the game.
In the last two quarters, South State managed to score 27 points to 12, which was an indication how much Snow’s missed Modena.

IN the B grade women’s final, HCC shocked Belvedere in the opening quarter jumping out to a 12-0 lead, a deficit Belvedere would never recover from.
Both sides have a wealth of finals experience, but neither side could have predicted the one-sided opening quarter that left Belvedere  in shock at the first break.
They clawed their way back into the game, outscoring the HCC side by one in the second quarter, but in the second half it was again one-way traffic.
Clare Dreyer controlled the flow of the game well for HCC and Nikki Agresta kept the scoreboard ticking over on her way to 17 points for the game.

REFLECTIONS produced a mirror-image dominant performance in the first and last quarters in the C grade women’s grade final against Hotel Victoria, winning 45-24.
In the bookend quarters, Reflections more than double the score of its opposition as the side piled on the pain and took away any chance Hotel had of winning the big one.
Belinda Sillis was the best for the premiers with 18 points.
However, Anita Bugno found her range from beyond the arc, hitting three triples in her 11 points for the game.
